About This Site

This personal archive is a digital home for the feature stories I wrote as a correspondent for the Philippine Daily Inquirer—specifically for its Southern Luzon Bureau—between 2003 and 2006. I joined the newsroom fresh out of college, mentored by the late and respected journalist, Mr. Floreño Solmirano.

The years may have passed, but the stories still echo—portraits of people and places, slices of culture, glimpses of history, and the everyday beauty of Southern Luzon. I held onto many of the original newspaper clippings, and I’m grateful to finally bring them here, out of folders and into the light.

These are stories worth remembering. Stories of the known, the forgotten, and the quietly extraordinary.

Though I later shifted paths—spending nearly two decades in humanitarian work, disaster risk reduction, and climate action—I’ve never stopped listening, observing, and telling stories.

Because no matter the field, no matter the role, I’m still a storyteller at heart.
